About Helios

In the sprawl of the 'verse, HELIOS operates as a collective of pilots and specialists who value reliability, teamwork, and a good time in equal measure. We're not a militia, not a megacorp — just a crew that takes pride in getting the job done and enjoying the journey. Our name, Hyperspace Exploration, Logistics, and Interstellar Operations Specialists, reflects what we're about: running efficient operations across the 'verse without turning the game into a second shift. We build enough structure to keep missions smooth and organized, but not so much that you're filling out forms to undock.

HELIOS maintains a dual focus on combat and industrial gameplay, and we enjoy blending both into unified operations:

  • Combat: security escorts, fleet engagements, bounty work, and rapid-response support.
  • Industrial: mining, logistics, cargo, refuel/resupply, and salvage.
  • Combined Arms: coordinated ops where combat wings clear the field and our industrial crews move in to recover, refine, and profit.

Our goal isn't to be the biggest org — it's to create memorable, social, and genuinely fun experiences. The kind where a routine contract becomes a story because people worked together, adapted on the fly, and made something cool out of it.

A few things we stand by:

  • We do not run official piracy operations.
  • Members are free to pursue their own fun, as long as it doesn't cross into griefing or harassment.
  • Anyone using the HELIOS name to ruin someone else's night won't be wearing the tag for long.

We're looking for people who want to learn, share knowledge, and grow regardless of skill level — people who enjoy the teamwork and social side of the game as much as the gameplay itself. Someone who can shift between "let's run this clean" and "welp, that exploded — moving on" without missing a beat. If you help keep things calm and welcoming, you'll fit right in.

Whether you want to fly gunships, run salvage lines, escort convoys, crack rocks, or try your hand at multiple roles — HELIOS is a place to do it with a reliable crew that respects your time. If you're looking for a group that balances structure with freedom, and values good people above perfect runs, there's always room in the formation.

Operations
Active Hours

HELIOS runs primarily during US evenings and nights, with some members pushing into the early morning hours. Pick-up groups are possible most days of the week, with the highest activity on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

PT 5:30 PM – 1:00 AM
MT 6:30 PM – 2:00 AM
CT 7:30 PM – 3:00 AM
ET 8:30 PM – 4:00 AM
UTC 12:30 AM – 8:00 AM
CET 2:30 AM – 10:00 AM
SGT 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
AEST 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM

These reflect peak activity windows — members are online at all hours, just less predictably outside this range.

Group Structure

Our current sweet spot is small, focused groups of 2–6 players — tight enough to coordinate well, flexible enough to adapt on the fly. That said, the goal is to grow into something more: multiple squads running simultaneously in different game loops, or larger coordinated ops of 10, 15, 20+ when the content calls for it.

Multi-crew ships reward proper crew sizes, and upcoming content like Tactical Strike Groups and large-scale events will push those numbers further. We want to be ready for it.

Scheduled Ops & Pickup Groups

We have run planned ops and intend to establish more regular scheduled events in the near future. In the meantime, organic pickup sessions happen regularly — jump in Discord, see who's on, and roll out. No sign-up sheets, no mandatory attendance.

When an op is running and the crew is ready, we start on time. We respect the schedules of those who showed up prepared.

What We Do

HELIOS has active experience across the full range of current Star Citizen content. A typical week might cover bounty runs, a mining op, a Wikelo grind, and someone pulling the group into a global event at 1 AM. Here's what we actually run:

  • Combat & Bounty Hunting: NPC and player bounties, security contracts, FPS missions, and ship-to-ship engagements across Stanton, Pyro, and Nyx
  • Mining: ship and ROC/FPS ground mining across multiple systems — material quality now feeds directly into crafting, making ore runs more meaningful than ever
  • Salvage: hull scraping, wreck recovery, and component reclamation — salvage materials are set to integrate into the crafting economy in the near future
  • Cargo & Hauling: commodity trading, contract hauling, and logistics support for org ops and Wikelo runs
  • Crafting (4.7+): Star Citizen's first crafting system is live — blueprints earned from missions and Breaker Stations, materials gathered through mining, crafted into FPS weapons and armor with stats tied to material quality. The system expands significantly with each patch
  • QV Breaker Stations & PvPvE Content: multi-stage instanced missions — fight through hostile resistance inside derelict industrial sites, restore power, and extract valuable minerals. Exactly the kind of content that rewards a coordinated group
  • Wikelo & Trade Economy: delivering specific materials and items to Wikelo's Emporium locations in exchange for rare ships, weapons, armor, and components — a reward loop that ties multiple game loops together
  • Global Events & Tactical Strike Groups: recurring large-scale events that reward coordination and player counts — Xenothreat is returning in 4.8, alongside the new Tactical Strike Groups system designed specifically for org-sized fleet operations
Fleet

We field a well-rounded mix of ships across all roles. Highlights include an Idris-P — a player-owned capital ship and one of the largest and most capable vessels in the game, crewed by multiple players and rare even among established orgs. We also field two Perseus gunships, a Reclaimer for dedicated salvage ops, and a solid spread of cargo vessels, fighters, and support ships across the membership.

We're not chasing the biggest fleet number — we're building the right mix of ships for the ops we want to run.

Training & New Players

We actively share knowledge — tips, mechanics, game loop deep-dives, and hands-on guidance for members who want it. Training is never required, but it's always available. We genuinely enjoy bringing new players into the game and giving them a solid foundation.

Whether you have 1,000 hours or just bought your first ship, you'll find people here who are happy to fly with you and show you the ropes — without making you feel like you're behind.
